Rooted In Science, Proven In Practice

The €4.6 million EU funded IGNITION Project aims to uplift green infrastructure in Greater Manchester and develop business models for investment in Nature-base Solutions (NBS).

Greeningup created and maintains all living walls for the NBS Living Lab at University of Salford – delivering evidence and real-time data to raise awareness of economic, environmental and wellbeing benefits.

Carbon footprint benefits

A living wall can help reduce environmental impact.

According to the Special Report on Global Warming by the IPCC, every half-degree matters. The difference of 0.5°C between 1.5 and 2°C can have permanent consequences, such as ecosystem loss and extinction. Greeningup’s UK-made living wall solutions are intended to assist global climate action to limit warming to 1.5°C.

Living Walls That Supercharge Your Space

Health & Wellness

Biophilia is our natural connection to nature. Plants boost health, well-being, and productivity.

Life can be stressful, severing this relationship and affecting our mental and physical health. Traditional planting isn’t always practical, especially when space is limited (financially and physically), yet living walls connect people with nature even in heavily crowded urban situations.

Environmental

Living wall flora improves biodiversity by providing a variety of birds and insects with breeding, feeding, and sheltering habitats.

They remove hazardous volatile organic compounds and dust particles from the air, minimise storm water runoff, reduce urban noise pollution and help offset carbon dioxide emissions.

Structural

Installations of living walls offer sustainable solutions for several buildings and bring value to any building, business, or community.

Living walls can minimise building heat transfer, manage ambient and building temperatures, alleviate sick building syndrome and lengthen the lifespan of fascia. In green environments, they are known to increase foot traffic and visitor stay duration.
